Boston's Ex-Red Wings Come to Town and Clean Up...Ex-Red Wings Dave Lewis and Tim Thomas returned to Detroit March 11 and earned a win over their old team-mates. "For me, it's two points. All I have a great memories of this team, this organization, these fans," Lewis said. "Just to come back I knew how to get into the visitors locker room, but I hadn't been in there in a long time." Tim Thomas, on the other hand, found himself in the thick of the action, making 35 saves and driving me wild with despair! "It meant a lot. I tried to tell myself that it didn't because I didn't want to put too much pressure on myself," Thomas said. "I realized how much it meant to me with just a few minutes left. The emotions started to boil up. I'm glad we had a three-goal lead at that point." Our three goals came from Jiri Hudler, Nicklas Lidstrom, and Robert Lang. Dominik Hasek saved 19 shots. Sturm's scored a second to tie us at at 2 in the middle period. Boston showed some serious attacking aggression, and this put them a notch above us, which soon paid off. Petr Tenkrat put Bruins ahead with 8:22 left in the period with a slap shot from the right, and then Bergeron made it 4-2, 2:35 into the third period, with a opportunist shot from a rebound off the rear boards. Kobasew added to our misery, before Red Wings' Lang scored with 7:47 left for Detroit. But Kessel scored with 5:41 remaining for the Bruins, and the visitors were rapturous. This made it six of its last eight that Boston has won on the road. Despite this disappointment I am once more looking for tickets, as my love for Detroit Red Wings will never die. As ever, I'll be consulting Ticketliquidator for ticket availability and low prices, and here's to hoping we'll be seeing some glory come to Joe Louis Arena sometime soon! Recent blog posts |
